Adding transitions between clips
A transition is a special kind of filter that you insert between two clips to control how one clip is replaced by another.
Adding transitions such as Dissolve or Swipe can greatly improve a movie by making the change from one clip to another nice and smooth.
To add a transition:
- Open the Media Browser and choose the transitions button.
- Drag a transition from the media browser and drop it between two clips in the Timeline.
- Replace a transition by dragging to it in the Timeline.
- Adjust the length of the transition by dragging the source and target clips of the transition. The transition is always as long as the overlapping part of the two clips.
- Remove a transition by selecting it in the Timeline and pressing backspace or by choosing Delete from the Edit menu.
